I've often thought that maybe ACIM (and other "beliefs" for that matter)
can't be discussed in words. Going by what I believe the course says, it's
the joining that matters? I remember Ken Wapnick on one of his tapes saying
"you can read the phone book from a content of Love and heal". Like help
others feel loved, joined, at One (with All and God)
Thus, anything could be discussion on a course discussion group, the
weather, TV shows, books, pets, anything, and others join in a peaceful and
(feeling) Love way, and this would be "course discussion"?
And, as we have found out for years, writing ABOUT the course, what it
says, what one person believes it says and thinks anyone who doesn't agree
is wrong, and some setting themselves up to be "right" and try to make
others agree about this, even though it might be about ACIM and even contain
quotes to back it up, isn't really "course discussion".
It's using the course (words) for ego games, and coming from form.
Now, the question with this is... who decides this? The person who writes
it comes from what they feel is one way (maybe even Love) and the person
reading it then decides how they will take it- perceive it. They have the
choice of perceiving it as coming from Ego or Spirit, and responding (if at
all) in that way.
Another key point (I have learned from years of attempting to have
"course discussion") it's never anyone else. Regardless of how they SEEM TO
mean it (what they write) it's still up to me, my choice, in which teacher
(mind) I am coming from in the perception of it, and response, if any.
This newsgroup (for one thing because it's one of the few unmoderated
groups around) has the potential for much learning. Remembering what the
course teaches, and being aware (where am I coming FROM?) and has much
value, I think.
Even though it now seems to have pretty much died out for discussion
(except the recent on about iambic pentimeter) the course does say we can
teach/learn in words, or in no words. But words are still needed "for those
unable yet to hear in silence". Maybe at this point more people now CAN hear
in silence?
Though I think the main newsgroup people seem to move around and after
here went onto some of Robin's groups (I tried but they were just another
version of the newsgroup, with a moderator running it and deleting stuff and
playing God) Maybe since then everyone has gone on to facebook. Where people
are "defriended" if they aren't what someone else thinks or wants them to
be.
Still all lessons and chances to practice and remember. Holy Spirit can
use anything if we are open to it.
Offered for possible discussion. Of course not responding to something is
still a response (and answer) in itsefl.

- You inspire me here to the following:

When I listen to Spirit, then whatever anyone expresses
is given me to perceive as being an expression of
either Love or a call for Love (or a mixture).
Since the ego is nothing, nothing comes from it in truth.
When I judge that someone is 'coming from the ego',
then I apparently belief in its reality,
since from nothing nothing comes.
Acknowledging this, I can let my belief in it be undone.
